Welcome, everybody, to season 2007/2008 and especially to the new clubs who have joined our league. I hope the coming year brings you both enjoyment and success. We always strongly advise clubs to make themselves familiar with all the league and cup rules; it is obviously to your advantage to know not only how the league runs but also exactly what is expected from you as a club officer.
Familiarise yourselves and your players with the laws of the game. Invaluable information is contained in the referee’s chart available from the Football Association, 25 Soho Square, London, W1D 4FA.
The league officers who make up the CSFL management committee are listed on pages 2-3 of your handbook and can also be found be clicking here. Please contact them should you have any queries whatsoever but, unless absolutely vital, please avoid phoning between 9.00 pm and 9.00 am.
All correspondence for the attention of the committee must be written by the club secretary and be addressed to the general secretary. Your letters are treated in confidence and are dealt with at the next committee meeting (refer to page 3 of your handbook or click here for dates). The club secretary will always receive a written response.
We recommend that you always request, and retain, a receipt for any payments you make to the league treasurer.
You must carry your players' registration numbers and id cards with you to all your matches.
Your club's attendance at council meetings is always far more appreciated than is the fine for your absence. If, however, you are personally unable to attend a meeting, it is your responsibility to arrange a deputy, and to subsequently check with me or another league officer (see here for contact details) in case there are urgent messages specifically for you.
May I take this opportunity on behalf of the league officers to again wish all clubs a successful and enjoyable season.
