Clubs 

Many clubs will play regular pre-season friendly matches during the summer but for those of you without a social network or who may be looking for new blood go to the Your shout noticeboard and post a topic entitled Friendly Wanted or something equally obvious.

Say who you are (club name, your name, secretary/team manager etc, and what kind of strength team you are offering/looking for, what playing venue you have in mind, kick-off time, cost sharing arrangement or not (away side pays the ref?)) and so on.

Don't forget to give an email address and/or telephone number (or two).

Clubs looking to arrange friendlies can similarly visit the noticeboard and see what's on offer.

Just a small word regarding etiquette; we all know that it's better to give than to receive so don't just take up offers of friendlies from other clubs - if possible make your own teams and facilities available as well.

Referees

If you're looking to dust off a few close-season cobwebs and fancy a run-out before the real action starts then go to the noticeboard and post a Referee Available message.

Give your name, level and contact details and wait for the offers to come rolling in…
